"Dave Toder designed the site plan for the Black Creek Launch in Highland at the request of the Lloyd
Environmental Conservation Council.  He generously contributed not only his considerable expertise as an
architect but also imaginative and commonsense ideas for creating a better-looking, more environmentally
sensitive, and more user-friendly boat-launch park.  In addition he demonstrated skill in accommodating a
wide variety of demands from the NYS Department of Transportation and the Department of Environmental
Conservation.  Throughout a complicated process, he was always friendly, enthusiastic, and quickly responsive
to our needs.  It was for these reasons that we awarded him in 2012 for making an outstanding contribution
to the Town of Lloyd."- Jack Maguire, chair, Lloyd Environmental Conservation Council

“It has been a pleasure to work with Dave Toder of Bolder Architecture over the last few years.
Dave’s understanding of the building process, knowledge of the building code and drawings skills
were an asset in our collaborations.  I would recommend Bolder Architecture to anyone looking
for competent, prompt, and reliable architectural services.”- M.L.

“I have been pleased to work with Dave Toder of Bolder Architecture on a number of projects of various sizes
over the last few years.  Dave Toder assembled many drawing packages and did code reviews on many
different buildings for us.  With his understanding of the building process and knowledge of the building code
he was an integral part of our design team.  I would recommend Bolder Architecture to anyone looking for quality,
reliable and also cost effective architectural services.”- Martin
"Dear David,
Just writing to let you know how grateful we are for the expertise, the patience and the ongoing support you
showed us during the renovation of our kitchen, porch and deck.  Your creative sight turned a close, uncomfortable,
very outdated kitchen and a closed in dining area into a spacious, open kitchen-dining area that makes entertaining
convenient as well as a pleasure.  We are no longer tripping over each other as we prepare meals.
As you found in your initial inspection of our home and property, we had a porch and deck that had not been
built to code, the footings were inadequate, the deck unsupported.  We now have a safe, wide, spacious deck that
I'm sure we'll enjoy in the warmer weather and a porch that is comfortable, bug free as well as safe for children.
In the kitchen area, your suggestion to move the refrigerator against the inner wall and the stove to the fireplace
wall, and your assurance that it would be easy to move the gas line and to vent the stove, made all the difference
between a crowded work space and the lovely, open kitchen we now have.  Removing the awkward island space
that broke up kitchen and dining area and expanding the cabinets to the dining area gave us a large, open space
rather than a compartmentalized, closed-in one.  Your expertise regarding zoning requirements and Department of
Building regulations inspired our confidence as we transitioned from design to hiring a reliable contractor to getting
the necessary permits and inspections.  The completed, approved plans allowed easy sub-contractual work to get
done efficiently.
Your openness to us participating in the design process and your ability to hear what we wanted and to
incorporate our ideas and needs into your design made the process both exciting and fun for us.  Knowing you
were our partner through this process, that we could call you at any time with questions and get a prompt informed
response, gave us a sense of comfort and trust as we progressed through the project.
We are grateful to your for your professional expertise, your creative talent, your suggestions and
recommendations, all provided with warmth and enthusiasm and which have resulted in a beautiful kitchen we will
use and enjoy for many years.
Thank you."- Mickey and Geraldine Kelly
"Dave helped us work through a complicated addition to our home.  He was efficient and prompt, yet took his time
to understand our needs.  He worked through a number of scenarios, adding good advice along the way.  Dave
worked with the town to ensure our ideas met building codes, allowing our building permit to be granted very
quickly.  Throughout the construction of our addition, Dave made himself available to the builder and us when
questions came up.  His attention to detail during the construction process was extremely valuable.  Dave's
professionalism was more than we expected, and I would recommend him to anyone considering a home
addition or remodeling project.  And let's not forget that Dave was a real gentleman throughout
the entire process.  You can't go wrong with Dave on your side."- K. & S. C.

"Here in Highland, NY, our Town is building the Bob Shepard Highland Landing Park along the Hudson River, the only
public access to the river for 30 miles along the west shore.  We’ve been lucky to have Dave Toder as part of our
design team.  He drew up plans first for the renovation of an onsite building and then for our shoreline restoration.
This project includes new bulkheads, a deepwater dock, and a boat launch ramp, all to be freely available for public use.
Dave has worked tirelessly to translate the dreams of our Park Association onto paper and then incorporate the
requirements of our funders and the recommendations of the engineers who created the package we have just
put out to bid en route to making our expectations a reality.  Throughout, Dave has respected our cost limitations
and produced timely, superior products."
- Donna Deeprose, Vice-President of Development, Highland Landing Park Association, Highland, NY

"Our first time working with an architect could not have been a better experience.  Tearing down part of our house
and rebuilding it was a daunting task.  During the planning stage, Dave gave us several options to choose from,
then incorporated our ideas into a beautiful design that worked well with the existing structure.  His attention to detail
in the drawings and working closely with our builder made the construction process go smoothly.  Dave Toder was
a pleasure to work with and we highly recommend him to anyone in need of an architect."
